From the vendor website: The noted “gentleman anthropologist” ceramicist, and antiquarian Henry Chapman Mercer (1856-1930) built Fonthill Castle in 1912, both as a home and a showplace for his famed collection of Moravian tiles and other art works. The building is distinctive for being one of the first ever constructed using reinforced poured-in-place concrete, and its eclectic mix of Medieval, Gothic, and Byzantine architectural styles gives it a unique “fairytale castle” vibe.
